Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping, is an incredibly powerful tool that can help you release the emotional blocks and negative patterns that are holding you back. By gently tapping on specific points on your body, you can unlock deep-seated emotions and achieve profound healing.
EFT combines elements of ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. Scientific studies have shown that tapping on meridian points can significantly reduce levels of the stress hormone cortisol in the body. By addressing the physiological response of the body to stress and emotional pain, EFT can interrupt the patterns of self-sabotage and create new, healthier coping mechanisms.

For many years I struggled with patterns of self sabbotaging behaviours and limiting beliefs. I didn't even know what they were, let alone that I had any and that they were getting in my way.
I often think how different life would have been had I discovered EFT sooner. Happily, it did come into my life and it changed everything. It has been a gradual process, of course, but has become such an integral part of my life and I'm now passionate about helping others to get un-stuck and free themselves from the patterns and behaviours that have been holding them back.
Since learning about, and integrating, tapping into my daily routine I've felt freer and lighter with each tapping experience.
It didn't take long before I felt compelled to train to become an EFT Practitioner so that I could help empower others to experience this feeling of liberation and empowerment in their lives too.

Monthly EFT Tapping Group: Tapping with Tessa
It can be really powerful to tap in a group with others in a supportive community. I currently offer a 90 minute session on the first Wednesday of each month on Zoom. When tapping in a group we "borrow benefits" from each other even when tapping on our own issues. If you're curious about finding out more, do join our group where we tap on different topics in each session depending on the needs of the group.

Discovery call and Intro to EFT monthly free group
Perhaps you've heard about EFT tapping but aren't sure what it's all about and would like to learn more? If so then book a 1:1 discovery call if you'd like to know more about 1:1 sessions or book a free 45 minute monthly EFT taster session to see if you feel EFT is right for you.
How to tap (the basic recipe)
1. Identify the issue (e.g pain or emotion)
2. Rate the intensity (10 for the most intense pain or emotion down to 0 for no pain/emotionally neutral)
3. Create a "set up statement" about what is happening (pain/emotion e.g. "lower back pain"/"sadness" followed by an affirmation: "I deeply and completely love and accept myself".
"Even though I have this lower back pain I deeply and completely love and accept myself"
4. Repeat this set up statement 3 times whilst tapping on the meridian point known as the Side of the Hand (or Karate Chop point as it is also known).
5. Create a reminder phrase.
“this lower back pain / this stabbing pain” (choose your own words).
6. Tap through the points, as on diagram below, whilst saying a reminder phrase such as "this pain"
(Start on the Side of Hand, then beginning of Eyebrow, Side of eye, Under eye, Under nose, Chin, Collarbone, Under arm and end on the Top of Head).
Rate the intensity of the issue after every round or two of tapping. Your number may have increased, decreased, changed to a different emotion/pain in a different place or it could have stayed the same. All of these are ok.
If your number has reduced but isn't at 0 then keep tapping until it is. If your number has increased then you may need to adjust the set-up statement to reflect any new feelings that have come up. Emotions/pain may change as you tap so it's important to change your language to reflect these changes.
